A music software that delivers free audio and visual instrument capabilities, with the potential to shape the musical outcome through visual qualities.
The boxes can be dragged individually or in groups, resulting in pitch changes and tonal differences. Additionally, you can create custom grids that can be easily saved and loaded up again later. The software also features a floating control panel that allows you to apply different sounds to the boxes, control which part of the sound is looping, and adjust the frequency of the sound.
The number of sounds available is limited to 8, and they cycle based on the user's settings until the box is deselected. You can call up the control panel at any time to change the settings of what is happening. One of the most exciting features of Lauki is the sampling option that records on the fly anything that is being played on the computer's soundcard. This makes it possible to merge the ongoing loops into one sound that can be used on the next box.
It's worth noting that using the menus (save, save as, open, new...) will stop the sound. If you are in the middle of a performance, you may want to use the shortcuts provided instead. Overall, Lauki is a powerful and easy-to-use software that inspires creativity and experimentation in music production.
