LogChekker is a log file searching software that retrieves router logs from email clients. It allows users to search for incidents on any IP address and perform a reverse DNS/Whois lookup.
Should users find additional incidents, they can copy the IP address to the search box and perform another search. This time, the program will present an IP address, port number, and the number of times the IP address was found on different port numbers. In the event that users do not believe there were accidental attempts, they can go to the Edit Menu and select Options to turn on full text search.
After the search is complete, a time stamp will be shown (date and time of day). Should users still feel that there are no accidental attempts, they can choose to save the result in either .txt or .html format and send an email to either their ISP or the ISP of the person who has apparently attempted harm to their machine.
If users wish to find the person's ISP, they can select one of the IP addresses and push the IP button. The program will then try to perform a reverse DNS/Whois lookup, revealing the ISP being used by the person. Overall, LogChekker is an effective tool for those searching through log files and identifying potential threats to their machine.
