This Firefox add-on replaces the server-based search box with an alternative interface.
To use Lookpick, users simply type a few letters of the desired search engine in the Lookpick search box, and it will appear as an autocompletion-choice. Once the correct search engine is selected, users can perform their search. The context menu functionality makes adding new search engines to the user's list effortless. Simply right-click on any text field on a web form, select "lookpick this..." and choose a name for the new entry.
Using Lookpick doesn't mean that users must select a search engine upfront. Users can type their query into the Lookpick search box without choosing a search engine and still be directed to their default search engine's results, which can be specified at lookpicking.com. Additionally, users can easily switch between the browser's standard search field and the Lookpick search box.
One of the significant advantages of Lookpick is its cross-platform functionality. The Lookpick add-on works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux, making it accessible to anyone, regardless of their operating system. Overall, Lookpick is an excellent option for anyone looking for a server-based search box replacement that offers users the ability to utilize numerous search engines, access them from any computer on the web and share them with others.
