This software is a highly efficient tool for creating music compositions.
Based on a unique musical model that includes hierarchical structures, Machine For Composing Music's motifs consist of motif materials and transformations. This process enables users to build up phrases, voices and complete compositions.
With this application, users can easily explore, improvise and experiment without any limitations. The software is ideal for creating both ideas and final compositions. If you have an XG-based midi synthesizer, you can experiment with creating avantMidi compositions continuously.
Machine For Composing Music features four different generator types, including melodic, chordal, drum-pattern and SysEx/CC. This process allows the user to create motifs and build the composition with the most basic and lowest level building block.
The software provides plenty of generator algorithms for each generator type, which means that users can create several new algorithms and generator types. Additionally, the library contains over 400 drum pattern presets in a variety of styles ranging from rock to samba to ska.
Once users have created their motifs, they use these to build phrases. A phrase consists of a selected motif that is repeated a specific number of times, with different possible transformations applied to each repetition, including retrograde and inversions.
Users can create several different parts offers different transformations and number of repetitions using the same motif. The overall composition is designed by selecting which phrases occur over time by clicking on the overall structure grid. This grid is in the lower part of the software screen.
Users can quickly generate and listen to different compositions with this software. It is also possible to regenerate individual motifs, and any higher composition element that reference these motifs changes without affecting other elements. The final compositions are saved as Midi files that can be integrated into any other music software for editing purposes.
