This software synchronizes metadata between two iView MediaPro catalogs.
iView MediaPro and other image asset managers often lack the capability to group images with corresponding metadata in a productive manner. This means that users cannot add image information such as captions or locations to a raw file and expect it to be automatically associated with derivative image files like smaller JPEG images meant for web output or uncompressed 16-bit TIFF images.
MetaSync presents a suitable solution to this problem as it allows users to create their solutions to track metadata. However, consistency in naming between the two catalogs is crucial for MetaSync to function. The files in the targeted catalog have to share the same filename root as those in the source catalog. For instance, if a raw image is named Foo.CR2 in the source catalog, the image in the destination catalog has to follow the naming convention, such as Foo.TIF or Foo.JPEG to trigger the MetaSync function.
