This software provides a graphical interface that enables users to analyze and estimate frequency and dynamic range. The tool is designed to facilitate these tasks, and offers efficient and precise functionalities for graphic analysis.
The interface offers various tools and characteristics, which are detailed below. The main audio control interface is the Master Audio Controls. The user presses the space bar to toggle audio processing, and a circle next to "on" indicates that audio processing is inactive. The four sliders on the left of the interface control the main outputs of channels 1 through 4, which can be adjusted to set master output levels. Additional audio controls are available under the "dsp" drop-down in the upper right corner.
The Sample Player interface allows loading an audio file for playback. The user can select "replace" to choose an audio file and press the "start" button to play the sample. Playback speed can be adjusted, and the output level can be modified with the "postGain dB" control.
Audio input control is managed through its interface, which configures the input from the selected audio interface. The input gain can be adjusted with the left-most slider, and alternative input numbers can be selected from the drop-down menu.
The Variable Filter interface allows selecting and configuring numerous different filter shapes. The available filter shapes include "lowpass", "highpass", "bandpass", "bandstop", "peaknotch", "lowshelf", "highshelf", and "flat". The filter parameters can be modified either by clicking and dragging in the filter display or using labeled number boxes.
The Spectral Analysis Parameters provide a spectral analysis of the signal, which can be toggled between linear and logarithmic with the drop-down menu. The interval of analysis can be adjusted, and the amplitude of sine waves for use as grid lines can be controlled.
Finally, the Dynamic Range Analysis Parameters offer a moving RMS amplitude analysis of the signal, with configurable averaging and two reference sine waves for setting RMS dB boundaries.
Overall, the Max/MSP Collective software provides a comprehensive suite of digital signal processing tools that is easy to use and highly customizable.
