PathFinderHack is a SIMBL plugin that replaces the main document drag button in Apple's Cocoa applications.
So, what's the solution? You have two options: keep running Finder or avoid using it entirely. But there is a better solution available—try to patch a few instances of the hard wired effect. And that's where PathFinderHack comes in.
PathFinderHack is a SIMBL plugin designed to patch Apple's Cocoa applications, replacing the main document drag button with a PathFinder button. It also redirects the open event from Finder to PathFinder. Installing PathFinderHack is easy. The code is a compressed bundle. All you have to do is drop it into /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins (or the user domain, ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins), provided that you have SIMBL already installed.
Once you've installed PathFinderHack, restart any Cocoa application to try it out. With this solution, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of PathFinder while still retaining some of the integration and functionality of Finder.
