Phage is a two-player abstract strategy game. It challenges players to leverage their strategic thinking and planning skills to outmaneuver their opponent. The game provides a challenging and engaging experience for players looking for a competitive, head-to-head experience.
Each player has four pieces with different movements, which make the game challenging and exciting. As each piece can only move a maximum of seven times, the game is swift and can be played over a cup of tea. The four playing pieces are Circle, Diamond, Square, and Triangle.
The Circle has the advantage of moving any number of open squares along horizontal, vertical, or diagonal paths. The Diamond can move any number of open squares along the horizontal or vertical paths. The Square can move any number of open squares along diagonal paths, while the Triangle can move any number of open squares along a horizontal path and forwards only along the vertical.
Players should be careful not to block themselves in, as moves are not transferable between pieces. If one piece is blocked in and has only used 4 moves, it cannot transfer its remaining 3 moves to another piece.
When a playing piece is moved, the square from which it moved is marked and can no longer be passed or landed upon by either player for the remainder of the game. It adds a level of complexity to the game, as players have to think and plan ahead of their moves.
In conclusion, Phage is a game that requires skill, intelligence, and cunning to win. This Cocoa implementation is an excellent way to enjoy the game, with an AI player that provides a challenge to players. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the game guarantees to provide an enjoyable experience.
