This software enables users to map large quantities of brief genomic reads to a reference genome for efficient genome analysis.
To achieve these complex tasks, RazerS uses a k-mer index of all reads and then counts common k-mers of both reads and the reference genome in parallelograms. Each parallelogram with a k-mer count that surpasses a specific threshold then triggers a further verification process. When successful, RazerS stores the genomic subsequence and the corresponding read number - this is then written to the output file.
Currently, RazerS is available across multiple platforms, with support for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and Linux 64. It delivers fast and precise read mapping capabilities that make it an essential tool for DNA researchers and scientists. Overall, RazerS is an exceptionally comprehensive mapping tool and is well suited for users in the bioinformatics and genomics communities.
