A content management system created for education, with a focus on curricular material management, teaching preparation and research.
One of Segue's most prominent features is the ability to borrow from the concept of multiple entries or posts on a page, each with their unique URL and attached comments from the blogosphere. Segue then provides users with an extensive version history of each post, enabling users to link between posts using "wiki" markup. If a "wiki link" is created to content that does not yet exist, a "create node" link is displayed that allows users to add that content.
Another exceptional feature is the hierarchical organization of a user's site and the control access feature, which allows a user to specify who can discuss, edit or delete any existing content. Furthermore, users can specify who can add new content making collaboration with a team more robust and secure.
Segue's central concept of "versioned micro-content" is also an exceptional feature that enables users to create many individual content blocks on a page, each with its URL, RSS feed, and version history. These content blocks can be sorted in several ways, including reverse chronological or completely custom ordering. As well, these content blocks can be organized hierarchically (i.e. top-down) through sets of navigation links and associatively (i.e. bottom-up) by means of tags and tag aggregation.
Overall, Segue is a valuable software that provides users with an extensive range of features that ensure efficient collaboration and management of various types of content. It is a must-have for anyone who desires efficient content management.
