Control your model railways with ease using this software.
It's worth noting that at the moment, SimpleDigitalLocomotive only supports locomotives and function models. However, it's still an incredibly useful tool for those who need to control these digital models. One thing to keep in mind is that the standard serial port for Macs is the RS.422 (8-pin), which is different than the RS.232 (9-pin) port found in the PC world.
It's also important to note that after the release of the first iMac and G3 blue/white, the RS.422 port was no longer implemented by Apple. Today, Macs only have USB as their standard serial interface. But, since the Digital Interface 6050/6051 has its own serial port (DIN 8-pin), it can be connected to a Mac using a cable that converts RS.232 to the Digital Interface 6051.
For those who use other digital controlling devices, like the IB, these devices typically have a built-in RS.232 modem-serial port, which can be connected to a Mac using a standard Mac-modem-cable. Overall, if you need to control digital model railway locomotives and function models via your Mac's serial port, SimpleDigitalLocomotive can be an incredibly helpful tool.
