Python Gallery Generator" is a user-friendly software that quickly and easily generates static XHTML galleries for free. Written using Python, this software is ideal for anyone who wants to create a simple gallery without any hassles.
SPGal is easy to use and generates XHTML pages from a directory containing various images, creating thumbnails and creating one page per file in addition to an index file. This software takes away the stress of manually creating each page of the gallery; hence, it saves time.
Another great feature of SPGal is that the values of --title, --subtitle, and --imgperline are saved in the spgal.conf file in the gallery directories. This means that you do not have to enter these values every time you run the program. If at some point you wish to change any of the saved values, all you need to do is re-run SPGal.py with the new value.
SPGal is dependent upon ImageMagick and Python. To use the software, simply drop SPGal.py and spgal_style.css into a directory containing images and run ./SPGal.py. If you wish to change the look of the resulting pages, SPGal’s CSS file is available for editing. It is important to note that if the software does not find spgal_style.css, it will attempt to locate one and copy that.
Overall, SPGal is an excellent software tool that is worth trying. It is easy to use, free, and full of amazing and useful features.
