SubtitleEditor is a tool for modifying subtitle files.
Currently, SubtitleEditor only supports SRT-Files. However, the latest release introduces a preferences panel feature. The preferences panel allows you to choose a standard text encoding to use when saving and opening files. You can also set some startup behavior and choose the directory that the open and save panels will start with. This feature simplifies the editing process and makes it more user-friendly.
Another notable function added in the latest release is the ability to create and delete subtitles. However, it's worth noting that backup support has not been implemented yet. Therefore, when deleting subtitles, you need to be careful to avoid losing your work accidentally.
For those who prefer a text editing mode, SubtitleEditor has that option. By changing to text editing mode, you can view the subtitle file as a normal text file. This feature is handy, and you don't know when you might need it.
Lastly, SubtitleEditor comes with a simple help system that provides users with some assistance. Although, there isn't much to it yet, you're likely to find the answer to your question. Overall, SubtitleEditor is an efficient tool for those who want to edit subtitles.
