SudokuPad is a free app designed for Sudoku enthusiasts, providing them with a helpful aid to solve Sudoku puzzles.
Although SudokuPad was not created as an automated solver of puzzles, it can generate puzzles of moderate complexity. However, it does not support advanced solving rules such as naked and hidden tuples, swordfish, x-wing, or nishio - which was removed to ensure the puzzle remained challenging. Consequently, the solver may not find solutions to more advanced puzzles, but it works exceptionally well for checking the solutions of Sudoku puzzles found in the local newspapers.
It is important to note that SudokuPad uses Glenn Randers-Pehrson's libpng library. In terms of system requirements, the software requires a 500-MHz or better PowerPC G4 or G5 processor as well as OpenGL 1.1. Overall, SudokuPad is a useful application for Sudoku enthusiasts looking to enhance their gameplay and solve moderate difficulty puzzles with ease.
