DefBot is a client software for Hotline servers with advanced robot features. It enables effective management and control of chat sessions, file sharing, and other server activities.
Perhaps, the only notable limitations of the DefBot are that it has a 15 seconds startup delay and a few advanced features are disabled. However, the latest version of DefBot comes packed with loads of new features such as chat support, tracker listing engine, new message events, and rule enforcement options. Besides, these bugs have been fixed, including the ones related to server account windows not opening and the inability to reply to news items.
The latest version of DefBot comes with several new features for more comfortable account setup; users can now save any connection preferences from the Server Connections List. Default Preferences, Message Events, and Defbot Accounts windows have been added to facilitate preferences setup for new accounts. The bot also saves window locations and statuses when shutting down and restarting, and this upgrade now comes with a server chat function (both public and private). DefBot is also equipped with the User Broadcast feature, enabling the bot to send administrator messages.
Additionally, the bot hides non-functioning buttons from view if it is logged into an account with certain privileges. Error messages inform the user of task failure due to insufficient privileges instead of doing nothing. The server address is now displayed on windows, allowing the bot to be connected to multiple servers simultaneously, and the directory path displayed in file windows to make file system navigation more comfortable. To make scanning speedier, the bot also allows local file list scans instead of scanning through the server. The bot recognizes more file types than before, allowing for the viewing of numerous image and movie types.
Finally, the Multi Tracker feature has been added, enabling you to list servers on multiple trackers. This feature is beneficial when limited to only trackers the server is set up with. Menus have been improved, and using the bot with Terra is now easier with documented setup requirements available in the read-me file titled "Using a Terra Server?"
