This software converts database files into HTML pages for easy viewing and sharing. With just a few clicks, users can quickly generate professional-looking web pages directly from their database, without any complicated coding or programming skills required.
Using HTML template pages that I made with my favorite authoring tool, WebMerge created a new HTML page from the data in each record of the exported file. It also provided the functionality of creating index pages with links to each of the detail pages. The best part was that the generated pages could be hosted on any Web server - even AOL - without the need for a specialized database hosting solution.
WebMerge went above and beyond with its support for multi-column index page layouts, a new WM-FieldInclude tag which lets you insert a text file or HTML file referenced by a path in your field data, enhanced support for JavaScript and CSS in navigation tags, and a few other minor enhancements. This version also provided enhanced documentation and examples, addressed all bugs reported to date and is even faster in some operations than previous versions.
I was impressed with how easy WebMerge was to use. It required no DLLs, extensions, CGIs, or other components. Everything that was needed to start generating pages was included in one easy-to-use application. Furthermore, a wide variety of businesses, universities, and other organizations rely on WebMerge daily, ranging from Web designers to the US Library of Congress. It is no wonder that most of their customers tell them that WebMerge paid for itself with the first project they used it on.
