Messenger Journaling is an Outlook add-in that stores message history from MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger to Microsoft Outlook 2000/XP journal. It works without Outlook running and supports Messenger versions 4.x and 5.x.
Running in the background mode, the add-in automatically and silently saves the history of MSN or Windows Messenger sessions to the Microsoft Outlook journal, even if Outlook itself is not in use. Later, launched from Outlook, the messenger history can be searched, sorted, and visually presented with the powerful tools provided by the journal.
With Messenger Journaling, you can save every message you send in the Journal, providing you with a record of your correspondence that you can consult down the line. Each message session has a separate entry created that includes the message texts in its body saved in its original format, including fonts, colors, and graphic images, such as smileys. Additionally, message times, system messages, and session durations are saved as well.
By taking advantage of Microsoft Outlook's capabilities, you can quickly find a message by keyword or sort message histories by users or time. To utilize Messenger Journaling, you need Microsoft Outlook 2000/XP, and the add-in does not work with Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 97/98. The add-in is compatible with MSN/Windows Messenger v4.x, v5.x., and the current version is not yet compatible with MSN/Windows Messenger 6.0.
