Compared to other auto-routers, TopoR routes with fewer vias/layers and has shorter lengths of traces. Each wire is given a minimal length and goes around pads with proper clearance. There is no preferred routing direction in layers, which significantly reduces wire parallelism and electromagnetic crosstalks.
TopoR has an intuitive user interface that allows beginners to learn and create their first free-angle design in just a few hours. TopoR can perform parallel optimization of several alternative topology variants that differ in optimized parameters. The user is offered a choice of selecting one or several variants. One of the unique features of TopoR is its ability to move components on the routed board while preserving the connections' topology. Geometry and positioning of components are automatically calculated to comply with the new components' position.
Movement of components, vias, and wire branching is used to decrease wire length and provide ample clearance space. The movement can be performed both manually and automatically, and the most effective wire shapes are defined immediately.
