WavePad is a music editing software designed for Mac OS X. The software offers a wide range of capabilities to create, edit and enhance music, vocals and audio recordings. Additional functionalities include duplicating recordings, adding effects like echo, amplification, noise reduction and much more.
WavePad's list of features is impressive. For example, you can duplicate sections of recordings, add echo, noise reduction, and other effects, and even restore old or noisy recordings. Furthermore, you can reduce vocals, apply distortion, chorus, and more using special effects.
If you work with multiple files at one time, that's not a problem either. WavePad lets you work with multiple files in separate screens, set bookmarks along them, and even load music files directly from a CD.
Batch processing is a valuable time-saving feature that allows you to apply effects or convert songs as a single function. Plus, you can customize the sound quality when saving files, with pre-defined settings like CD Quality, Radio Quality, and more. And, you can choose the sample rates that work best for you, from 6000 to 96000Hz, and in stereo or mono, 8, 16, 24 or 32 bits.
If you want to record new sounds, the software supports autotrim and voice-activated recording. Music editing also has a wide range of functions, including cut, paste, delete, insert, silence, autotrim, and more.
We recommend trying WavePad for yourself. The software is available for free from NCH Software's website (although this version is for non-commercial use). NCH Software has over 80 products for both Windows and Mac OS and has received several awards for excellent software development.
