Virtual CD RW Mac is a simple and convenient virtual CD drive for Mac users that utilizes disk images to appear like traditional CDs to the operating system. This software offers a faster burning option compared to a traditional CD burner, enabling easy creation of virtual copies to protect the originals with swift access.

With Virtual CD RW Mac, you can work 10 times faster than with a physical CD drive. This software appears in the menu bar as soon as you install it. From there, you can mount and read any virtual CD or use the virtual CD burner from the drop-down menu. You can use it with music converter software instead of using a physical CD.
This is particularly useful when you want to make virtual copies of music CDs or other CDs for faster access and to protect the original CDs. You can even erase virtual CDs, too. If your Mac doesn't have a CD drive, it can be a problem when you're trying to use an app that burns to a CD or CD RW.
You can't use a disk image (.dmg) file created by the Mac OS X Disk Utility instead because it doesn't appear to be inserted in a real optical drive. An external CD drive might be a solution, but they're much slower than an internal CD drive. That's where Virtual CD RW Mac comes in handy.
Since it's a kernel extension (driver), it looks exactly like a physical drive to all applications running on the Mac OS. Furthermore, since it stores the virtual CD data in a file on your hard disk, it's much faster than any actual CD drive, whether it is an internal CD drive or an external CD drive.
