This software is designed for analyzing and plotting directional data. It supports various data formats, generates statistics, displays wind roses and other visualizations, and allows exporting files in raster formats, KML, SHP, and DXF.

The wind rose chart provides an overview of wind speed and direction distributions for a specific area during a particular time frame, making it a very practical way to summarise large amounts of data in one plot. WindRose PRO can load a variety of file formats, including XLS, XLSX, ASCII, EnergyPlus weather files, AERMOD surface files, ISC3ST files, NMEA0183 files, and frequencies.
In addition to this, the software offers various saving options, including raster formats like PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, and BMP. It also provides several exporting options, such as KML for Google Earth, SHP for GIS systems, and DXF for CAD systems. For numerical results, files can be exported as ASCII, RTF, or Excel, complete with charts.
Aside from the traditional wind roses, the software provides other plot options, such as the rose of minimum/average/maximum values, raw data, and rays. Raw data plots enable the inclusion of a third variable when loading data in Excel format. It also comes with a wind turbine feature that allows the user to specify power curves for calculating the wind potential of a site and a specific turbine's operativity. Users can create and maintain their own database of wind turbines to use with the software.
WindRose PRO can also calculate crosswind and tailwind scenarios for airport runways. The user can apply various options to each plot and save settings in a configuration file. Data can be filtered according to their values and dates and times, such as month, day of the week, and hour of the day. Each user can customise the wind rose chart by adding their own logo, and the elements like the title, legend, notes, and logo can be repositioned with a click and drag feature.
All in all, WindRose PRO is a versatile and practical application that offers various plotting options, data representation formats, and exporting options, making it an indispensable tool for anyone dealing with directional variables.
