Cpqarrayd software is a monitoring daemon specifically designed to monitor HP (compaq) arraycontrollers.
The project is designed to report any status changes, such as failing disks, to the syslog and optionally to a remote host using SNMP traps. It also reports status changes in the disks to a snmp trap host.
By default, Cpqarrayd only logs to the syslog. However, multiple traphosts can be specified with the -t parameter at the commandline. Although any errors are non-fatal, it checks for valid input.
For optimal performance, it's recommended to compile the software for the same kernel that runs on the machine where you want to use it. Make sure to confirm that the version of the SmartArray driver is the same to avoid any strange occurrences.
In the latest release, a number of memory leaks were fixed, ensuring that the software runs smoothly without any glitches.
Overall, Cpqarrayd is a reliable and efficient tool for monitoring HP (compaq) arraycontrollers, making it an essential software that should be used by all users with a smart array controller from Compaq.
