IRCclean is a free and powerful anti-worm software designed to eliminate worms that use IRC chat networks for spreading. It is a user-friendly, compact, and standalone program that can detect and remove worms efficiently.
Using IRClean is very simple. When the software is run, it will start with a prompt to select the location to scan. The user can specify the entire drive, such as C:, or just a specific directory, such as C:Mirc. If the user needs to stop the scanning in the middle of the process, they can do so by pressing the Stop button.
IRC users will be notified if IRClean detects any files that have the characteristics of IRC-propagating worms. In addition, the software comes with a TestWorm included. This test worm is a real sample, but due to its controlled design, it cannot spread or cause any damage. Its purpose is to demonstrate how a worm can infect mIRC. TestWorm creates a backup of the script.ini file and saves it as script.bak.
All in all, IRClean is a fantastic tool to protect yourselves from the growing problem of IRC-propagating worms. Its ease of use and compact size make it a great option for any IRC user.
