The Docbookm project, in collaboration with LayManSys, provides easy-to-use XSLT drivers that generate XHTML portions from DocBookXML.
The section.xsl file is also limited. It can't handle more than one section in a file and may struggle with subsections.
That being said, the latest release includes several updates. The xsltoc feature now supports a wider range of tags, including Code Markup (constant, varname), Filesystem Markup (filename), hyperlinks, and lists. There have also been some bug fixes regarding block elements. Additionally, the stylesheet documentation has been improved.
Overall, if you're looking for a simple solution for generating XHTML chunks from DocBook XML, the DocBookM project might be a good fit for you.
