Eschool is a web platform designed for schools, teachers, and students that can be used by education ministry.
In its current single-pass interpreted language, Ruby has no specification, so the official implementation is regarded as the reference. However, as of 2008, several alternative implementations of the Ruby language emerged, including Rubinius, JRuby, YARV, and IronRuby. Each of them follows a unique approach with JRuby delivering just-in-time compilation functionality.
Matsumoto worked on Ruby before releasing it in 1995, and he named it a gemstone after a joke by his circle of friends connecting it to Perl. Currently, the newest stable version of the reference implementation is 1.8.6, and apart from this, several other virtual machines exist for Ruby, like JRuby, IronRuby, and Rubinius.
Regarding Eschool, it targets teachers, students, schools, and education ministries. It has a user-friendly interface and offers a diverse range of functionalities. Users can access digitalized courses, examinations, and reports, including class schedules, attendance, and grading. Eschool connects the whole education ecosystem and provides an efficient platform for organizing resources, streamlining educational activities, and improving communication.
All in all, Eschool is an excellent educational platform built using Ruby on Rails, and it offers great potential for a seamless educational experience.
