FSP Proxy is a software that offers a proxy server to translate protocols from FSP to HTTP for seamless communication.
The proxy server is designed to make it easy for newcomers to play with FSP without having to learn classic FSP command line interface tools. Users can handle downloads in a browser and access FSP sites available on the internet.
The proxy server also supports subrange byte requests and resume works seamlessly. It uses FSP v2 over HTTP/1.1 and does not cache anything. This feature ensures that users have access to the latest version of FSP sites.
The latest release of FSP Proxy comes with several new features and improvements. The new release uses getopt from stdio.h instead of getopt.h in fspscan.c, making it compatible with AIX and other OS without glibc. The fatal bug from b23 that sends large packets to clients if the client request has not preferred reply size inside is now fixed. This bug confused all old FSP clients.
Other improvements include the removal of common/strdup.c, conversion of bsd_src/function.c bcopy to memmove, and the removal of STDC_HEADER checks. The build system is now converted to SCons, and work has begun on an alternate SCons-based build system. Fspd now uses urandom instead of random to avoid hangs on Lin suck 2.6.
Finally, the security of FSP clients has also been improved in the latest release. The sequence numbers are now randomized, the random number generator in FSP clients is seeded, and the cmd and pos in received packets are now checked. Overall, FSP Proxy is an excellent software to use for FSP to HTTP protocol translation.
