Gentoo's adaptation for the original Xbox console.
Gentoox Linux is a modified version of the popular Gentoo source-based Linux distribution, designed specifically to run on the Microsoft Xbox game console. However, to use Gentoox on your Xbox, hardware or software mods will be required.
During installation, you will be presented with three options - E, F, and Native. Both E and F options create a loopback filesystem, meaning that no drives will be formatted during installation, except for the cache partition. However, if you choose "Native," your F: partition will be formatted to ReiserFS, making it inaccessible to Xbox applications.
To load Gentoox on your Xbox, you can choose to use a .xbe file or flash Cromwell-based BIOS onto your modchip during installation. If you are using E or F installations, you are completely risk-free by deleting all the installed files (about 7 in total) if you decide to switch back to a previous system.
All versions of Gentoox are 100% free and open source, making it an excellent choice if you are looking for a reliable, flexible, and customizable platform for your Xbox.
