Layer7-firewall is an easily configurable firewall that offers a layer seven protection for your systems.
Thanks to the work of Justin Levandoski, Ethan Sommer, and Matthew Strait, the firewall can identify packets as eDonkey2000, Bittorent, Quake, and more.
To get started, simply unpack the bz2 file to get the iso image and then burn it to a CD. Just remember to connect your CD as hdb (Primary Slave).
One of the nice things about this firewall is that it now includes some new features. In the latest release, they added "iptables -I FORWARD -p udp... -j MASQUERADE," "iptables -I FORWARD -p icmp... -j MASQUERADE," "iptables -I INPUT -p udp... -j MASQUERADE," "iptables -I INPUT -p icmp... -j MASQUERADE," and queues on interfaces have algorithm cbq now (before htb).
