Nbed-Nakooki is an x86 platform GNU/Linux Live-CD that functions as a generalist software.
"Nbed Nakooki Live CD" comes packed with several essential features such as Abiword – a text-processor, Firefox – a web browser, mplayer and xmms – video and music players, The Gimp – graphic designing software, sylpheed – mail and news reader, and Rox. The software is also the outcome of the Nbed project, which is expected to come with many more features shortly. Presently, Nbed-Nakooki is a proof of concept of Nbed.
Since Nakooki is a mere collection of packages definitions designed to be compiled independently, without any installation CDs or such, Nbed-Nakooki provides people with a straightforward opportunity to install and test a Nakooki system on their hard drive seamlessly, without requiring special skills. Although it may not offer as many features as some of its competitors, Nbed-Nakooki has a few drawbacks, such as limited support. However, its simple-to-use interface, fast performance once the desktop loads, and straightforwardness that makes it easy to understand (for those already using Linux) make it a fan favorite.
