OCC is a chess game built with PHP programming language.
It is possible to play a quick game by refreshing frequently or using a chat tool to inform your friend that you have finished, but OCC's intention is not for this purpose. If this is what you're after, other online chess games may be a better fit.
OCC is designed so that you can run several games simultaneously against various friends, checking once a day to see if anyone has moved. You can then enter your move along with a comment. Any number of simultaneous games is allowed, and OCC stores the full move history of a game. It also automatically recognizes checkmate and stalemate.
You can also choose to draw a game, but both sides must agree. Once a game is over, you can either archive it or delete it. The moves can be submitted either in the normal short chess notation or a full move notation, with an in-game help function explaining usage.
Additionally, any game can be re-viewed move-by-move, and you can save a game as PGN to analyze it with your favorite chess tool.
This release of OCC features some minor enhancements in the GUI, including rearranged buttons and confirmation dialogs for draw offers to prevent accidental actions, as well as a bug fix in stalemate detection.
