PMR is a command line filter that provides data bandwidth and total byte count information for data flowing through a pipe.
An added functionality of the PMR project is its ability to perform an MD5 checksum of the stream. This helps to verify the data integrity on unreliable networks which are prone to errors or corruption. The checksum is a unique value which can be used for comparing the data received at the receiving end of the transmission.
In the latest PMR release, which is version 1.00, the man page was missing, and has now been reintegrated back into the project. This means that with the man page, users can access relevant information on how to navigate the PMR software more easily. Overall, the PMR project is a powerful tool, which can assist users in various ways, especially in the maintenance of networks that require a lot of data transfer.
