RadioStreaming is a screenlet software that enables you to listen to online radio stations. It can play various radio stations from anywhere in the world directly from your desktop with ease.
Before the 0.0.14 version, Screenlets were scripted exclusively in Python and drawn in SVG. But after the said version, support was added for web widgets, which are HTML, JavaScript, and CSS-written similar to Apple's Dashboard widgets.
To use Radio, you need Screenlets and mplayer and its codecs to be installed on your device. To install, simply put it in your /usr/local/share/screenlets directory and run it from there. With about 20 pre-defined radios, you can add more radios by editing the menu.xml file, which comes with it.
Radio has a new update with added features such as new skins, new radios, and an updated version. The app also has a new graphical user interface with play and stop buttons, allowing you to take full control of your radio listening experience. Another added feature is that it now plays ram files, which means you can now listen to BBC radio and Ministry of Sound. Lastly, a bug that caused the app to hang when the internet connection failed has been fixed.
Overall, Radio is an excellent widget application that enables you to listen to your favorite online radios seamlessly. With its easy-to-use interface and added features, it is truly a must-have for online radio enthusiasts.
