RadioWORKS is a software that allows the user to calculate radio wave properties. It provides information on frequency, antenna length, 3D coverage map, 2D line of sight graph, path loss, and power/range requirement changes. It is a powerful tool for predicting radio wave behavior in various scenarios.
With RadioWORKS, users can view a 3D coverage map by providing a latitude/longitude coordinate and transmitter height. Additionally, the software enables the presentation of a 2D representation of line-of-sight coverage between two latitude/longitude points, including compensation for TX/RX height, adjustment for Earth curvature, and first Fresnel zone calculation. Users can also look up the elevation of a latitude/longitude coordinate for further information.
RadioWORKS offers a range of mathematical models for path loss calculations, including Free-Space, ITU Terrain, Hata Urban, Hata Suburban, Hata Open Area, COST 231 Hata Extended, Weissberger, and Empirical COST-Walfisch-Ikegami (also known as 'COST 231 Empirical') for both line-of-sight (LoS) and non-line-of-sight (n-LoS) scenarios. Users can also use the software to run these models backwards to determine matching distances for specific path loss values.
The software comes equipped with a Distance and Power Change Prediction Calculator, which predicts the effect of changes to transmitter power, usable range, and signal decay rates on proposed transmitter power changes, range requirements, and other variables. All path loss and distance/power change prediction calculations are displayed graphically, making them both user-friendly and insightful.
RadioWORKS also enables users to calculate the beamwidth, gain, and far-field distance of a dish antenna. Context-sensitive help is available to guide users through the various features. Moreover, all mathematical formulas used by the application are on display, including explanations and usage information.
RadioWORKS is available as freeware and is free from viruses, adware, spyware, back doors, and trojans. The software is packaged as an MSI (Microsoft Installer) file for easy installation and removal, providing users with an efficient means of accessing its many functions.
