The ruleCore software offers an event pattern detection rule engine.
Furthermore, the ruleCore Engine even provides capabilities for combining events with logical and temporal operators in order to describe complex situations. What I found particularly impressive was that when a situation is detected, the ruleCore Engine can execute an action to alert external applications or users of the situation.
The ruleCore Engine is fed with events through various connectors, making it compatible with multiple platforms. Currently, the connector implementations exist for plain sockets, XML-RPC, IBM WebSphere MQ, and TIBCO Rendezvous. Additionally, experimental support exists for running the engine within Zope and calling Zope methods when a rule triggers its action.
Overall, I found ruleCore to be a powerful software tool that is well-suited to detecting complex patterns of events. Its user-friendly interface made it incredibly easy to set up a situation detection system that was tailored to my specific needs. Highly recommend it!
