This software allows you to run older DOS programs requiring PC/XT or PC/AT by slowing down a fast computer.
One of the biggest issues with running interactive, action-type games on modern computers is that they are usually written to run on a very specific speed. If the computer is too fast, the game won't run correctly. But with Slowdown, you can slow your computer down to a speed that is suitable to run these games as it can be user-configured to any speed you desire.
Slowdown offers two modes of use: semi-permanent mode and single-program mode. In semi-permanent mode, you can slow down your computer temporarily to run multiple programs in a row, and the computer will remain slowed down until you turn off this feature. Conversely, in single-program mode, you may only want to slow down the computer to run a particular program, and the computer will automatically go back to its normal speed once the program ends.
Additionally, if you're experiencing error messages that flash by too quickly, Slowdown can be used as a debugging/troubleshooting tool. It will slow down error messages long enough for you to see what they say, allowing you to easily troubleshoot your PC.
Overall, Slowdown is a fantastic software that caters to those who have a love for vintage software, allowing them to run old DOS programs on modern computers without experiencing any issues.
