The sortdemo project is a software tool designed for demonstrating sorting algorithms.
Using Sortdemo's generated sequences, you can create beautiful and informative educational materials such as web pages, or use it as a teaching aid to explain the finer points of sorting algorithms. To use this software, all you need are the gd libraries, enough disk space for generated gif files, and ImageMagik.
This latest version of Sortdemo comes with several exciting new features. We have completed the selection/insertion sort, moved prototypes to sortdemo.h (VR), added long names for sort/data types, and added almost sorted/reverse data types (VR). Additionally, we made gifcount local and static (VR) and enabled selective gif/png compilation with autoconf. Overall, we made using Sortdemo even more straightforward by adding selection/insertion sorts and config.h, and moving some constants into it.
In conclusion, Sortdemo is an excellent software tool that you can use to enhance your educational materials or as a teaching aid. With its easy-to-use, visually appealing animated sequences, Sortdemo will undoubtedly add depth and understanding to your students' learning experience.
