TEA Total is a tiny 128-bit cryptographic software solution that uses a private key for both encryption and decryption.
Currently, TEA Total is only capable of supporting file encryption and decryption processes. However, with optional compression and/or Base64 ASCII encoding, users can experience a much more efficient process.
This program’s creator has designed a set of TEA-based encrypted tunnel programs which make it possible to wrap applications for transparently forwarding over encrypted networks. The TEA algorithm forms the bedrock of this package, and the name itself is an allusion to the phrase “tee total.”
To build TEA Total in a Unix-type environment, you will need to edit the configuration file config.inc to configure your installation prefix, the architecture type you’re using, and to select the options you require. After editing, simply run command “make” and check that the comparisons have succeeded. Then, execute “make install”, possibly as a root user. Once installed, the program will run through some self-tests to ensure that everything is working as it should.
It’s worth noting that the Makefile uses some GNU-Makeisms. Therefore, if your system uses pmake or something similar as the default, you may need to install GNU make and execute the command as “gmake.” If you’re building on a currently unsupported architecture type, you will need to add a new description to the files config.inc and arch.h. In the end, TEA Total is a reliable encryption-decryption software integrating advanced features for secure and fast file handling operations.
