TekRADIUS is a Windows-based RADIUS server that offers a free version for commercial and personal use.
One of the things that sets TekRADIUS LT apart from other RADIUS servers is its own built-in SQLite database, which means that no additional database is required to run it. Furthermore, it runs as a Windows Service and comes with a Win32 interface for management purposes. You can limit simultaneous sessions, log session details into a log file, and even select which IP address to listen on, as well as the RADIUS Authentication and Accounting ports.
TekRADIUS LT also has a range of advanced features, including the option to run it in Authorization only mode or turn off Accounting in case you prefer to keep it disabled. Additionally, the Authorization SQL SELECT clause can be customized to meet your specific SQL query requirements.
With regards to authentication, TekRADIUS LT supports an extensive array of methods such as PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP v1, MS-CHAP v2, EAP-MD5, EAP-TLS, EAP-MS-CHAP v2, and PEAP. The software also supports RFC 2868 - RADIUS Attributes for Tunnel Protocol Support, and RFC 3079 - Deriving Keys for use with Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption (MPPE).
In terms of user management, TekRADIUS LT enables you to specify the time-limit during which user accounts will remain valid after first logon, as well as the allowed logon days and hours, via the Login-Time feature. It also permits the use of an external executable's return code as a check item and even comes with a built-in DHCP server for assigning IP addresses to wired or wireless devices on your network.
For commercial editions of TekRADIUS, there is an added feature for the assignment of IP addresses to wired/wireless clients that are authenticated using EAP authentication. Lastly, TekRADIUS LT's SP Edition provides the ability to send a Packet of Disconnect (PoD) or execute user-defined session kill commands when a user consumes all his or her credit. All in all, TekRADIUS LT is an exceptional RADIUS server that will satisfy your authentication and user management needs.
