TwitVim is a Vim-based Twitter client that enables users to access Twitter feeds and manage their accounts through the Vim interface.
The developer notes that TwitVim is an enhanced version of a Vimscript created by Travis Jeffery. The developer also thanks Travis for the original script concept and implementation.
There are several commands available to help you use TwitVim more easily. For example, you can use :PosttoTwitter to prompt you for a message to send to Twitter, and :CPosttoTwitter to post the current line in the current buffer to Twitter. You can also use :BPosttoTwitter to post the current buffer to Twitter. If you're in Visual select mode, you can use the Alt-T key to post the selected text to Twitter.
TwitVim also has several commands for viewing different Twitter timelines, including friends timeline, your timeline, @-replies, public timeline, and direct messages. Additionally, it has several commands for shortening URLs, including Tweetburner, TinyURL, SnipURL, Metamark, and UrlTea.
To use TwitVim, you'll need Vim and Vimball. If you're using newer versions that are packaged as Vimball archives, you can open the vba file and then source it with :source %. For older non-vba versions, you'll need to install cURL if it isn't already installed. Then, add the script to your Vim plugins directory and add the necessary lines to your .vimrc or _vimrc file.
In this release, TwitVim has added support for urlBorg API. Overall, TwitVim is a useful Twitter client for Vim users who want to tweet and view Twitter timelines without ever leaving their editor.
