Vidrate is a video voting tool that enables multiple users to vote on which video files from a database should be retained.
Apart from providing a mechanism to vote out videos, it also offers exclusive features such as selecting which videos you have seen for your own future reference. Vidrate also allows you to set up a cron job that enables the automatic scanning and deletion of videos that have been voted out by all users. This eliminates the need to manually ask other users if they would like to keep a particular video file, making it incredibly easy to free up some space on your file server.
Users are also given the liberty to add comments on every individual video file, including pre-existing standard responses such as "bad quality." This at-the-ready feature provides context for the video that is being deleted or kept.
As an integral part of its future development roadmap, Vidrate is to support upcoming features such as marking videos that need to be redownloaded in better quality and showing comments of other users, thereby providing more practical usage for the software.
