X-DSL is a software that can run on a modded Xbox as a live CD or be installed on the Xbox hard drive.
X-DSL has a Fluxbox-based desktop and offers a range of applications for common tasks including Mozilla Firefox web browser, AxY GTK+ graphical FTP client, Sylpheed graphical email client, Naim console-based AIM, ICQ, IRC, VNC, and Remote Desktop clients, FLWriter word processor, Siag spreadsheet, graphics editing and viewing using Xpaint and xzgv, viewers for PDF, Word, and Postscript files, emelFM file manager, XMMS audio player, Monkey web server, FTP server, and SSH client/server.
X-DSL can also be customized using myDSL extensions with over 200 extensions currently available from the Damn Small Linux repository. The software is continually updated and includes recent improvements such as the latest Damn Small Linux version, another rewrite of the install scripts, enhancements to loopback install to allow a swap file on the same partition, addition of raincoat, and a tool to show the current IP Address (Under System, Net Setup in the desktop menu).
