XQDE is an updated software version of KXDocker 1.0.0, offering improved features and functions for a smoother user experience.
XQDE, also known as "xcode," is a new concept for all desktop environments. The software is built entirely on Qt4 and gains the powerful rendering capabilities of Compiz (Beryl).
Some key features of XQDE include the ability to align on the left, right, and bottom (with top alignment in progress), as well as the ability to choose between XRender and Qt4 high-speed rendering. Additionally, the software is 5 times smaller in size code than KXDocker 1.x and utilizes the CPU less "panther" engine for increased speed.
To use XQDE, simply install QT4.x (sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev), extract the archive, and compile using qmake-qt4 make. Once compilation is complete, the software can be used by typing "./libxqdebase" into the command line.
The latest release of XQDE includes a new multi-icon engine, reflection (aka icon) mirrors, fixes to bottom alignments, and a WebResources plugin. Overall, XQDE is a highly recommended software project that provides an unmatched desktop experience.
