Yzis is an editor with a similar interface to Vim, built from scratch using the Yzis framework.
In Yzis, the core editing functionality is located in a library, with interfaces built on top of it. Currently, there are frontends available for KDE and ncurses, with the KDE interface being the most popular amongst users. This frontend provides a user-friendly interface for users and allows you to have tabs for different buffers and a GUI that allows you to modify things like color schemes and syntax highlighting easily. This feature-rich interface makes (g)vim users feel right at home.
Thanks to the powerful scripting language Lua, you can easily extend yzis' functionality with scripts. With an editing engine that is clearly separated from the GUI, the various interfaces are written in such a way that they can be tightly integrated into their respective environments. For instance, the kyzis frontend can be easily embedded in KDE apps like Kdevelop, giving users even more functionality.
Overall, Yzis is an outstanding software for editing files that has several key features such as syntax highlighting, multibuffer, and a fantastic console mode application. The integration with Lua and the ease at which new functionality can be scripted make it a great choice for people looking to extend their editing abilities.
