Acoc is software that can colorize the output of any command in the terminal to improve readability and organization.
With acoc, you no longer have to search extensively through your buffer to find GCC errors or other pertinent information about your program's execution. This software comes packed with a regular expression-based colour formatter that applies colour sets to matching patterns in command-line programs' output.
Acoc works by wrapping around the target program, capturing the stdout stream and executing it. It can also redirect stderr to stdout, making it possible to manipulate it as well.
There's more: the tool applies matching rules to patterns in the output, and uses colour sets to highlight the matches. In a nutshell, acoc makes it easier for you to visualize key information displayed by your command-line programs.
Don't just take our word for it! Check out the sample screenshots in the next section to see how acoc's output display might improve your workflow.
