Mahara

Mahara is a fully-featured electronic portfolio software, designed to connect users and create online communities. Apart from this, it also functions as a resume builder, weblog, and social networking system. The software is the outcome of collaboration between Massey University, Auckland University of Technology, The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, and Victoria University of Wellington. It is also funded by New Zealand's Tertiary Education Commission's e-learning Collaborative Development Fund (eCDF).

Mahara is an open-source software that is built to help users showcase their skills, development and lifelong learning to specific audiences. The name Mahara translates to 'think' or 'thought' in Te Reo Māori, making it reflective of the project's focus on creating a user-centered approach towards lifelong learning and development applications. Provided freely as Open Source software under the GNU General Public License, Mahara allows you to copy, use and modify the software provided you agree to a few conditions.
