Amakonvi enhances Amarok with a script that adds a “Now Playing” feature to Konversation. This feature automatically updates the user’s status with the song that is currently playing in Amarok.
To get started with Amakonvi, simply unzip the files and add them to your Amarok scripts directory (usually located at /home/user/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/). Both files should be made executable by running the commands "chmod +x konvi-amarok-status.sh" and "chmod +x konvi-now-listening.sh".
Once you've added the files and made them executable, open Amarok and head to Settings --> Script Manager. You should see both files listed there. Right-click konvi-amarok-status.sh and select "Edit", then navigate to the last line and replace the default IRC server and channel ("irc.escomposlinux.org "#blogdrake"") with your preferred server and channel (e.g. "irc.freenode.net "#konversation"").
After making these changes, save them and select konvi-now-listening.sh. Click "Run", and you should see the song and artist information displayed in your Konversation channel.
Overall, Amakonvi is a great tool for Amarok and Konversation users who want to keep track of their currently playing music without constantly switching between applications. All you need is Amarok installed to take advantage of this feature!
