Amarok Atom Syndication is a script for Amarok music player that enables users to syndicate their current playing music to the internet.
Installation of Amarok Atom Syndication is relatively easy - just download the archive and install and run it using the Amarok script manager. You can also find it in the "Get more scripts" section of the Amarok script manager. Keep in mind that the script will not work until you have signed up for Google Pages services. To configure the script, you will need to type in the script manually.
You can edit the script to include your Google user login on $username and change the name of the Atom file on $ATOM_FILE (default is amarok.xml). The key features of Amarok Atom Syndication include the use of Google Pages service to store an Atom file containing data about the music you are currently listening to. With the help of a web aggregator like Blogger or FaceBook, you can share your recently played music with your friends.
There are some warnings to keep in mind when using this script. Some web aggregators like Feed Reader Widget at Blogger or Google Reader may cache syndicate files and only refresh them after an hour. To check if the plugin is working properly, use a proper desktop Feed Reader or any Firefox feed reader like Sage.
Recent updates to Amarok Atom Syndication include a change in Google login settings, which are now made through a GUI (perl-qt3 bindings). Configuration files have been split into .conf.rc and preferences.rc and follow the Config::General file format (Apache file format). Finally, the broken link to seeqpod has been fixed in the latest release.
