AssetMan is an Intranet application designed to manage materials. Developed using PHP, this software application is designed to manage equipment and other materials within an organization.
The software was first created as a simple experimental application to help manage the company I work for. We support over 300 personal computers and related devices spread over a wide geographical area. This led us to create AssetMan to help us better manage our assets. It has since grown into a full-fledged application that can handle purchasing, interdepartmental and customer billing, and capital asset management for the entire organization, not just the IT department.
While AssetMan isn't perfect, all significant bugs have been worked out, and it has been in use at our workplace with good results. AssetMan offers a wide range of features that make it a great asset management system, even for beginners.
The software is available to download for free under a GPL license, so there's no reason not to give it a test drive. You can find more information on the links provided.
New features in this release include the ability to configure the length of asset tags, PO and invoice numbers, as well as a fix for a directory traversal bug. The fix has successfully addressed minor security concerns by improving the validation of input data. Additionally, the ADODB library for PHP has been updated to the latest version.
Overall, AssetMan is a great project for small to mid-sized organizations that need a way to track their assets quickly and easily. Download AssetMan today and see how it can benefit your business!
