BinToo Gnu/Linux is a preconfigured Gentoo Linux distribution available for download.
The first release of BinToo features over 1650+ packages that are ready to run on your machine. However, please note that this release requires a 9 GB free hard drive space for installation. In case you don't have the required disk space, the installation process won't be successful.
The BinToo package includes a wide variety of applications across various categories. For instance, under app-accessibility, you'll find apps like dasher-3.2.18, festival-1.4.3-r3, gnome-mag-0.12.1, gnome-speech-0.3.8, gnopernicus-0.12.0, gok-1.0.5, and speech-tools-1.2.3-r2. Under app-admin, you can find config_confd-0.0.2.
The new release of BinToo features several significant changes that improve this package's overall performance. For instance, BinToo has significantly reduced system size and package dependencies by reducing its USE flags, with the same functionality. Additionally, the new release boasts a faster boot method, thanks to the New InitNG system. This method has reduced the system boot time to less than half the time.
The release has also fixed some bugs with KDE CD-ROM mounts and now offers full NTFS support, thanks to the ntfs-3g driver. The latest updates of the KDE, Gnome, and Kernel have also been incorporated into this release.
The new version of BinToo has also resolved the ATI and nVidia problem. The graphical desktop now starts normally with Free Drivers. However, you'll need non-free drivers if you want to run heavy 3D software and games. Lastly, users have the option to install binary packages included with the previous release, but it is not recommended at the moment.
