This is a bubble wrap popping application that allows users to satisfy their desire to pop virtual bubble wrap. The app replicates the sounds and sensations of popping real-life bubble wrap.
This Java-based program was originally written in C by Mihai Calin Ghete for use on a handheld Linux device with a touchscreen. The developer of the Java version used Ghete's media files (PNG and WAV) as well as his original logic for placing the bubbles and determining which bubble was hit on a click.
While BubbleWrap may provide a brief distraction or moment of entertainment, it is not particularly useful or productive. Nonetheless, it serves as a fun example of the types of simple applications that can be created using various programming languages and tools.
